Why MATES
Why choose MATES
Not a list of superlatives — a description of how we actually work, so you can judge whether it suits you.
We show our sources
Every visa fee, funds threshold, work-hour limit and processing note on this site carries the organisation it came from and the date we last checked it. Where a government website blocked us from verifying a figure directly, we mark it and tell you to confirm it rather than publishing a number that looks authoritative and might be wrong.
This matters more than it sounds. A wrong funds figure or an out-of-date work-hour limit does not cause a mild inconvenience — it causes a refusal, after a family has already spent money.
We tell you when the answer is no
A counselling session that ends with “your results do not support that course yet, here is what would” is a useful session. It costs you nothing and saves an application fee, a test booking and months of preparation aimed at the wrong target.
Six destinations, researched separately
The Australian process is not the Canadian process with the names swapped. The document that unlocks your visa, the money you must show, when you must show it, whether your partner can join you and whether they can work — all of it differs. Each guide on this site is researched and written on its own.
Straight answers, every time
We will tell you what a course realistically requires, what it will cost and how long it will take — including when the answer is not the one you hoped for. Admission and visa decisions rest with institutions and immigration authorities, so you will never be promised an outcome by us.
Four offices, one standard
Kathmandu, Narayangarh, Parsa and Pokhara. The same process and the same information wherever you meet us.
What we will never do
- Guarantee admission, a scholarship or a visa.
- Ask for passports, bank statements or financial documents through a web form.
- Misrepresent anything on your behalf, or help conceal a previous refusal.
- Publish a fee or threshold we cannot source.
