Our commitment

This site is built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That matters here specifically: this site carries visa and financial information that people need to be able to read and act on, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

What we have done

  • Every page can be operated by keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator throughout.
  • A skip link is the first focusable element on every page.
  • Text and interface colours are checked against WCAG AA contrast requirements.
  • The interactive destination selector gives keyboard and screen-reader users exactly the same information as hovering with a mouse, and announces changes through a live region.
  • No information anywhere on the site is available only on hover.
  • Forms use real labels, describe their errors in text, and link those errors to the field they belong to.
  • Headings follow a logical order, and landmarks identify the header, navigation, main content and footer.
  • Images that carry meaning have alt text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Animation respects the reduced-motion setting, and the design still works with all motion switched off.
  • Interactive targets meet minimum size guidance on touch devices.
  • Layouts have been checked at 360, 390, 768, 1024, 1440 and 1920 pixels wide.

Known limitations

  • Some destination guides are long. In-page navigation is provided, but a screen-reader user will still traverse a substantial document.
  • Cost and comparison tables scroll horizontally within their own container on small screens.
  • Documents linked from official government sites are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
