Pre-Departure Support
The practical session that turns a visa into a workable first month.
A visa grant is not the end of the process. The first month abroad is where students hit the problems nobody warned them about: a bank account that needs an address, an address that needs a bank account, a lease signed unseen that turns out to be an hour from campus, health cover that was never activated.
Pre-departure covers the sequence in practical order. What to carry in hand luggage rather than checked baggage — your admission document, financial evidence and academic records, never in the hold. What to declare at the border, which matters enormously in New Zealand and Australia where biosecurity rules are strict and enforced. How to get a tax or insurance number, open an account, and register with a doctor.
We also cover the things that are genuinely hard rather than merely administrative: how long the first few weeks feel, what academic expectations look like when you get there, where the international student support office is, and who to contact when something goes wrong. Maintaining enrolment and attendance is a visa condition in every destination — students sometimes learn that too late.
What you get
- A practical arrival plan for your first two weeks
- Clarity on what to carry, what to declare and what to arrange first
- Understanding of your visa conditions and what could breach them
- Contacts for support once you arrive
What we do not do
We do not guarantee admission, scholarships or visa approval — those decisions belong to institutions and immigration authorities. We do not misrepresent anything on your behalf, and we will never ask you to send passports, bank statements or financial documents through a web form.
